Pokemon: Detective Pikachu – Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu


Pokemon: Detective Pikachu is an upcoming science fiction, comedy and mystery movie directed by Rob Letterman. It stars Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds as the voice and motion capture of Detective Pikachu. Alongside him are Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Suki Waterhouse, Omar Chaparro, Chris Green, Ken Watanabe and Bill Nighy; who star in live action roles.
This film is directed by Rob Letterman from a story by Dan Hernandez. It is adapted from the 2016 video game DETECTIVE PIKACHU. It is set to release on 3rd of May, 2019 in Japan and on 10th of May, 2019 in the US.


In this Pokemon Universe, Tim Goodman is the son of the famous Ryme City detective Harry Gooodman. Tim was a former Pokemon Trainer. His father invites Tim to come work at the precinct in the city when he soon goes missing. Staying at his father’s place to figure out this mysterious disappearance of Harry, Tim meets Pikachu whom he can understand and talk to.

This shocks Tim very much. Pikachu has amnesia. The two of them team up to find Harry Goodman and find out the major threat that looms over the Pokemon Universe.
